CBSE announced Class 12 Result on 26th May 2018,  83.01% passed, and 91,818 candidates were placed in compartment.

Meghna Srivastava from Ghaziabad has topped the exam with 99.8 per cent. She scored 499 marks out of 500. Anoushka Chandra with 498 out of 500 marks is the second all India topper. Srivastava who is a student of Step by Step school in Sec-132, Taj Expressway scored 100 in History, Geography, Psychology, Economics and 99 at English core.

"There is no secret. You just have to work hard and be consistent throughout the year. I never counted the number of hours I studied. My teachers and parents have been really helpful. They never pressurised me," said CBSE Class 12 topper Meghna Srivastava. 

She is a native of New Delhi, India, but she now resides in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Meghna Shrivastava is a 17-years-old (18 August 2000) Leo girl from New Delhi, India. She was born in New Delhi, but later, her parents relocated to Noida. She hit the headlines in the summer of 2018 after she topped the CBSE Class 12th exams. In such a close-run competition, she topped the covert exam with 499 marks out of 500with 99.8% marks. She beat the second position student, Anuoushka Chandra, by just 1 mark who scored 498 marks.

She has a pleasing personality with a height of 5′ 4″, weighs around 50 kg, and looks so pretty cute with her glasses.

Meghna Shrivastava hails from a middle-class Hindu-Kayastha family with roots inUttar Pradesh, India. Her father Gautam Srivastava is a lecturer, and mother Alpana Srivastava works in an MNC company.

She wants to study Psychology from The University of British Columbia in Canada.

Top performers across India institution-wise

1. Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools: KV schools performed the best across the country in the CBSE Class 12 examinations. The pass percentage stood at 97.78 percent. 

2. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya: The government-run school's pass percentage is at 97.07 percent.

3. Central Tibetan Schools Administration: CTSA schools performed the third-best across the country with 94.82 pass percentage.
